We collect information you provide when creating an account, posting or helping with a task, using in-app chat, rating another user, contacting support, or reporting a concern. This may include your display name, email address, task details, approximate or task-related locations, messages, ratings and technical information needed to operate and secure HelpTo.
How we use information
We use information to provide accounts and task features, connect task participants, deliver notifications, prevent abuse, respond to support requests, improve reliability, and meet legal obligations.
What other users can see
Your community profile and relevant task information may be shown to other HelpTo users. Personal contact information is not displayed as part of ordinary task browsing. Only share information in a task or chat that you are comfortable sharing with the other participant.
Location information
Task locations help people understand where help is needed. HelpTo aims to limit unnecessary exposure, but users should avoid placing apartment numbers, access codes or other sensitive details in public task descriptions.
Service providers and legal requirements
We may use service providers to host the app, deliver email or push notifications, and protect the service. Information may also be disclosed when required by law or when reasonably necessary to protect users, HelpTo or the public.
Retention and your choices
Information is kept only as reasonably needed for the purposes described here, safety, dispute handling and legal requirements. You may ask to access or correct your information, or request account-related assistance.
Alberta and Canadian privacy
HelpTo is based in Alberta and aims to handle personal information consistently with Alberta’s Personal Information Protection Act and Canada’s applicable privacy requirements, including PIPEDA where it applies.
